This place hasn't missed a beat. There was a band in the back dining room, Cafe teas floating in practically everyone's hands and a crowd blended of students, alumni, parents & locals. The service was quick and attentive for early afternoon on a Friday. I got a satisfying cheesesteak and Cafe Tea for less than 30 dollars. Bless this place !
If you are looking for a place to sit and have a drink on a sunny afternoon this place is a must! Especially on Thursday afternoon!!! We always come here when we come into town for a ballgame. Thursday afternoon, pitchers of Long Island Ice Teas are $5!!! They have several flavors to choose from. I always get the Miami Vice. It's topped this Captain Morgan! Service is always friendly and helpful! They have seating out side in the front that's where we like to sit, they also have seating outside in the back. This is a bar with food and not a restaurant with drinks. The food and the drinks are fine. Wide selection of beer and cocktails. Service is friendly. Patio is very nice. Being old and busted I prefer it when it's quiet.
Turkey wrap was fresh and excellent. Food came quickly. Beer was nice and cold. Outdoor seating on College Ave, lots to like.
While in State College we stopped at this place, which has been in town 40 years. Seating can be inside or outside, on this evening outside was just right. Our waitress LISA (?) recommended to me the Po Boy, and she was right on the money, it was great tasting and filling. My friend had the TBG (Turkey, Bacon, Guacamole) wrap and it was also good and filling. And overall the price was very fair for the quality and quantity. One odd thing was we were told they brew Ice Tea in the morning, and they sold out already. I am not sure I've ever heard of that before, but that did not take away from the overall positive review of this no pretense place for brews and pub food.
Stopped here last night after an awful experience at Federal Taphouse and had a great time. Our waiter Renzo literally saved the night by being friendly and attentive; we even shared a few laughs about how we were treated at the Taphouse. They were on a late night menu, but the food was good and drinks arrived at our table quickly. It was worth it to sit outside and enjoy the State College atmosphere. Thanks again to Renzo who did an awesome job taking care of us!
